Kindle (11th generation)
Customization
Fonts, screensavers, gestures and other tweaks.
There is not much to change on a Kindle. Amazon does not support custom sleep images, gesture remapping, or third-party apps. What you can do:
- Deal with the lock-screen ads. Remove them with a one-time payment, or understand what a “with Special Offers” device does and does not show.
- Add your own fonts for reading, from a “fonts” folder on the device.
- Adjust the reading layout — font size, boldness, line spacing, margins and alignment, in the reading menu. Note that the entry Kindle has no warm-light control, unlike the Paperwhite.
- Turn off features you find distracting, such as Popular Highlights, in Settings.
For anything beyond that, the honest answer is KOReader, which means jailbreaking.
