reMarkable Paper Pro Move

Comparisons

How this device stacks up against the alternatives.

The Paper Pro Move is a reMarkable shrunk to pocket size: the same writing experience, colour screen and app on a 7.3-inch body light enough to hold one- handed. It is still a poor ebook reader, and the small page limits how much of a document or notebook you see at once.

  • reMarkable Paper Pro. The full-size 11.8-inch version. Same software and Marker, far more room for PDFs, diagrams and side-by-side notes, but heavier and not portable in the same way. Choose the Paper Pro if writing at a desk is the main use; choose the Move if you want to carry it everywhere and accept a smaller working area.
  • BOOX Go Color 7. A 7-inch Android tablet that runs any app — good note apps, and every reading app — so it is a much better ebook reader and far more flexible. Its note-taking is app-dependent rather than a designed whole, and battery life is shorter. Choose the BOOX for flexibility and reading; choose the Move for a focused, distraction-free writing device.
  • Kobo Libra Colour. A proper 7-inch e-reader with light stylus notes, waterproofing and an open ecosystem, at a lower price. If your writing needs are light and reading matters more, it does both jobs for less; the Move is the better pure writing tool.
