PocketBook Verse Pro

Calibre

Managing your library and sending books with Calibre.

Calibre is the free desktop program most people use to keep an ebook library in order and copy books to a reader. The Verse Pro works with it over USB out of the box.

What to know

  • Send EPUB — no conversion. The Verse Pro reads EPUB directly, so Calibre sends it as-is. There is no Kobo KEPUB step and no Kindle AZW3 step to worry about.
  • Calibre is optional here. Because the device opens most formats itself, you can also just drag files onto the drive. Calibre earns its place if you want a tidy catalogue, bulk metadata and cover fixes, or format conversion for the rare file the Verse Pro cannot open.
  • Books land wherever you send them. Calibre copies to the drive root or the “Books” folder; the device indexes them on disconnect.
  • Keep your originals as EPUB. Convert only when needed, and keep the EPUB.
