Customization
Fonts, screensavers, gestures and other tweaks.
There is not much to change on a Kindle. The Scribe has no custom sleep images, no gesture remapping, and no third-party apps. What you can do:
- Add your own fonts for reading, from a “fonts” folder on the device — the same as any current Kindle.
- Choose notebook templates from the built-in set (lined, dotted, grid, planner and more), per notebook or per page. You cannot add your own.
- Set the Premium Pen shortcut button to the eraser or the last-used tool, under Settings, then Pen.
- Adjust the reading layout — font size, boldness, spacing, margins — in the reading menu.
- Turn off features you find distracting, such as Popular Highlights or the AI notebook summary, in Settings.
Running KOReader, which is how you would get real typography control on a Kobo, is not a practical option on the Scribe.
