BOOX Page
Customization
Fonts, screensavers, gestures and other tweaks.
Because it is a full Android device, the Page is highly configurable. The catch is that “customization” here means Android settings and BOOX’s own layers on top, not a folder of files.
What you can change
- Fonts in the stock NeoReader app, and in most third-party readers, by adding font files to a folder.
- The page-turn buttons — swap which button is forward, and set what a long-press does — plus the Navigation Ball and edge-swipe gestures.
- Per-app display behaviour — the optimisation dialog that sets refresh mode, contrast, DPI and animation handling for each app.
- The launcher and home screen — BOOX’s own, or a third-party e-ink launcher from the Play Store.
Start here
- Add your own fonts to the BOOX Page Put TrueType or OpenType fonts in the BOOX fonts folder so the stock NeoReader app can use them, and how third-party apps handle their own.
- Set up the buttons, Navigation Ball and gestures on the BOOX Page Swap and remap the Page's physical buttons, set up the floating Navigation Ball, and choose the edge-swipe gestures worth having.
- Optimise a single app on the BOOX Page The per-app optimisation dialog controls refresh, contrast, DPI and animations for one app. Here is what each setting does and sensible starting points.
