BOOX Page

Comparisons

How this device stacks up against the alternatives.

The Page is the reading-focused BOOX: a 7-inch black-and-white screen, physical page-turn buttons, a speaker, and full Android with the Play Store. It runs any reading app but has no colour and no waterproofing.

  • BOOX Go Color 7. The same idea with a colour screen and a slightly different body. If you read comics, highlight in colour, or want the colour layer, pick the Go Color 7; if you only read text, the Page’s black-and-white panel is sharper and cheaper.
  • Kobo Libra Colour. Also 7-inch with buttons, also colour, but a dedicated reader rather than Android — it works out of the box, is waterproof, and has far better standby, at the cost of not running the Kindle app or arbitrary apps. Choose the Libra Colour if you want it to just work in the Kobo or KOReader world; choose the Page if you need the Kindle app, Libby, or apps in general on one device.
  • Kindle Paperwhite. A locked 7-inch Amazon reader, waterproof, with the best standby of the four. Choose it only if you buy from the Kindle store and want simplicity. The Page can run the Kindle app and everything else besides.
