BOOX Go Color 7

Calibre

Managing your library and sending books with Calibre.

Calibre is the free desktop program most people use to keep an ebook library in order. Getting books from Calibre to the Go Color 7 works a few ways, because the BOOX is an Android device rather than a dedicated reader Calibre has a driver for.

What to know

  • Send EPUB — no conversion. Whatever app you read in (NeoReader, KOReader, Moon+ Reader) opens EPUB directly. There is no Kobo KEPUB or Kindle AZW3 step.
  • USB uses Android file transfer. When you plug the BOOX into a computer it appears as an Android device (MTP), not a plain drive. Calibre can still send to it if you install a small helper, but many people just drag files into the “Books” folder in the file-transfer window.
  • Wireless is often easier. Calibre’s built-in “content server” lets the BOOX browse and download your whole library over Wi-Fi from a browser or an app.
  • microSD works too. Put a card in, copy books to it on a computer, and every reading app can see them.
